A Coordinated School Health Program (CSHP) connects health (physical, emotional, and social) with education.  This coordinated approach improves children's health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities and the school working together.

The involvement of parents, families and community is the glue that binds the partnership.  Connecting these entities as partners in the educational (cognitive and intellectual) process brings valuable input to the partnership, increases the commitment of all partners and ensures positive educational and health outcomes.

A coordinated school health program (CSHP) model consists of eight interactive components:

bulletHealth Services

bulletNutrition Services

bulletHealth Promotion for Staff

bulletHealth Education

bulletPhysical Education/Physical Activity

bulletCounseling and Psychological Services

bulletHealthy School Environment

bulletParent/Community Involvement
