What is Mother Goose?
A group experience for parents, their babies, and young children focusing on early brain development through bonding, songs, rhymes, stories, and play.


 

Who can attend Mother Goose?
Any parent or caregiver with a child age 6 weeks to 4 years who is interested in early brain stimulation and having FUN!



How much does it cost?
Anyone can attend Mother Goose for FREE!!!
Groups are led by facilitators in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.



We meet Monday Evenings (when school is in session)
5:00-6:00 pm - Ages 6 weeks to crawlers
6:30-7:30 pm - Walkers to preschool age



**Sitting in a circle on mats, caregivers with their children learn rhymes and songs that naturally lead to holding, touching, and bouncing the children.

Jack jumped over and burned his toe.

Hold baby and jump him/her up and down as you say the rhyme.
Substitute baby’s name for “Jack”.
 


I Wiggle

I wiggle my fingers,
I wiggle my toes,
I wiggle my shoulders,
I wiggle my nose.
Now, no more wiggles are left in me.
So I will be still,
As still can be.
 


These Are Baby’s Fingers

These are baby’s fingers,
These are baby’s toes,
This is baby’s bellybutton
Round and round it goes.

Replace “baby” with your child’s name and point to body parts as you say them in the rhyme. Trace around baby’s bellybutton with your finger on “round and round.”


Rickety, Rickety Rocking Horse

Rickety, rickety rocking horse
Over the hills we go
Rickety, rickety rocking horse
Giddy-up, giddy-up, whoa!

Bounce baby on knees to rhythm. Then tilt baby back on “whoa.”



Criss Cross


Criss cross applesauce (make X with finger on baby’s back or belly)
Spiders crawling up your back. (walk fingers up baby’s back)
One here, (touch one ear)
One there, (touch the other ear)
Spiders crawling in your hair. (run fingers through baby’s hair)
Tight squeeze. (give baby a gentle hug)
Cool breeze. (gently blow in baby’s face)
Now you’ve got the shivers. (gently rock baby’s shoulders)


The Grandfather Clock

The grandfather clock goes Tick Tock, Tick Tock…
The kitchen clock goes tick tock, tick tock…
And mommy’s little watch goes ticka ticka ticka…

Rock baby back and forth for Tick Tock
Faster for tick tock
And faster still or tickle baby for ticka ticka
 


You Are My Sunshine

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You’ll never know dear, how much I love you
So please don’t take my sunshine away.

Sing as you rock or sway with baby. Make eye contact with baby as you sing. After singing through, substitute baby’s name for “sunshine”.
